CX TURIN VANCHIGLIA

The CX TURIN VANCHIGLIA project opens its doors within a building overlooking the Po River that once housed a Turin institution, the Edizioni San Paolo.

CX Turin Vanchiglia is the first location to open after Campus X’s rebranding. This evolution, while holding true to its original values, comes to life for the first time in Turin with a new facility featuring 89 student rooms and 32 hotel rooms.

The project is driven by the desire to create a focal point open to the city: the building is neither solely a hotel nor just student housing. CX’s goal is to create a ground-floor space for common activities interconnected with the city itself. The café’s large windows and gym are open and fully visible from the outside, drawing attention to the lively activities and programs within. This level will not be exclusive to students; instead, it will offer spaces open throughout the day to hotel guests and passersby alike.

The main strength of the new CX lies in creating a community of students and guests who can freely and flexibly use the shared spaces. On the ground floor, the café with lounge areas and community tables, along with the gym and study room, embody the duality of “Corpore & Mens” (Body & Mind); the second floor features a common kitchen and terrace where students can enjoy lunch breaks, while the rooftop on the 8th floor offers panoramic views of the Po River and Turin hills.

The furniture in the common areas combines iconic pieces of Italian design and production, with many custom elements crafted specifically for the flexible usage each space will see. A refined approach to color, material finishes, and design is evident in each component. The color scheme extends beyond furniture to architectural colors and finishes, creating a vibrant contrast between pop and soft tones, hard and soft materials, and natural textures against glossy reflective surfaces.

The energetic atmosphere of the common areas finds a calming balance in the guest rooms, as CX seeks to recreate a familiar, personal environment for each guest.

Each student has a single room with a wide view equipped with every comfort for a long stay. Each room is designed to be comfortable and cozy for the new student or his or her friends; the bed designed to be used as a couch as well allows one to comfortably watch TV or play a game of video games.
