CX TURIN MARCONI

The cosmopolitan neighborhood of San Salvario gains a new urban hotspot: CX Turin Marconi.

The structure rooted in Turin’s most dynamic neighborhood has undergone a functional and distributive restyling that breaks the compositional rigor to accommodate a new hospitality format: a mix of Long Stay and Short Stay where different generations and experiences mingle, creating a dynamic and ever-changing atmosphere.

Guests are greeted from the moment they enter by the energy and design of Campus X: the staircase set up as a hybrid of indoor and outdoor resembles the entrance to an underground club with metallic and neon-fluorescent tones. The cage with plants and acid-colored LED lights is surrounded by a bench that connects the street with the interior lobby-a protected space, but open to the public, a different way of welcoming people inside the new hybrid structure.

The lobby opens to a fluid and flexible space intended as a game zone and relaxation area in which to meet on designer lounge chairs or at the ping pong table, and these are joined by study and smart working stations, a meeting room, and a gleaming steel box containing a semi-private space where you can hold a business meeting, pause for a moment of relaxation or study within an open-plan environment.

CX’s energy does not stop at just one floor, but continues to the basement where the real heart of the facility pulsates: students have spaces for their every need: a communal kitchen where they can prepare and eat meals, places for entertainment and relaxation, study spaces with seating and various configurations, a cinema area and a laundry area.

AWARD: Best Project Archilovers 2023

“Best Project Archilovers 2023”

The concept of a hybrid and flexible space is by definition barrier-free; the eating area during daylight hours can be used as an extension of the adjacent study area. Spaces for student daylife are large and varied, study areas equipped with study tables for large groups, round tables for 4 people or lounge areas for those who do not give up studying on the couch are located in several interconnected rooms, all characterized by the presence of 8 small cloisters set up with plants and with glass windows decorated with decorative vinyls. These spaces are complemented by a professionally equipped gymnasium scanned into cardio and fitness areas of free access to the facility’s students throughout the day.

Another focus point of the common spaces is the Cinema Lounge area, a true game & cinema area where you can participate in theme nights and video screenings or where you can relax between classes during the day. Finally, how can we not discover the terrace on the 6th floor, from which to enjoy views of the rooftops and domes of Turin and from which to admire CORN79’s graffiti “blue Cerebral” just a few steps away from CX Marconi.
