Bringing back the history of the venue and merging it with the typical and recognizable style of the Berberè brand: this is the approach with which the second venue opened in Milan was designed.
Located in the Navigli district, one of the city’s best known, the venue does not go unnoticed thanks to the large windows that showcase what goes on inside. The kitchen and the large pizza oven are not hidden but brought to the forefront: they are the center of the scene and catalyze attention both inside and outside. A yellow band does not cover but overlaps the original brick unifying the spaces, while it acquires materiality with painted laths at the bar.
The bricks of the walls and vaults, which had been hidden by heavy layers of plaster over time, are brought back to light in a natural way, showing off the signs of past events. After this restoration action, the process of personalizing the venue begins with recognizable interventions that do not alter the intrinsic atmosphere of the place.
The dark wood counters, the white marble countertop, the floor strip that echoes the twentieth-century cement tiles, and the white kitchen tiles are all elements that, together with the exposed brickwork, bring the visitor back to a bygone, wholesome dimension. The layout, internal communication, graphics, and brand identity were taken care of by Comunicative.
