Caffetteria Torinese, Lavazza’s new brand, has opened at Turin’s Sandro Pertini Airport, a 90-m² space imagined as a small embassy of Turin style. Designed by our studio, the Turin Cafeteria reflects the typical character of Turin cafes in which the key words are tradition and innovation, declined in an environment with architectural features that reflect the city’s sophistication.
The idea was born as a concept of the Made in Italy cafeteria of the future, a Cafeteria 4.0, able to offer inside a real coffee “experience” for a quality break, with excellent products served in a refined, cool and homy environment.
The space winks at the old coffee roasters in the color palette and rough finishes on the walls, unlike the choice to keep the fixtures in view, as well as the variety of seating offered, resulting in an innovative venue, suitable for a young and curious clientele, always on the go.
The furnishings have similar finishes and materials to those of the historic cafeterias, while having different features to also accommodate customers from the restaurant Ingredients and/or other formats. The floor features ceramic carpets and technical flooring with a “terrazzo” effect with geometric designs, also provided in the Cafeteria counter area, as a tribute to traditional city establishments such as the Caffè Torino in San Carlo Square.
Inside the venue, seating and tables alternate, leaving ample space for product communication. A portion of the counter, referred to as the “experiential corner,” is in fact entirely dedicated to tasting filtered and mocha coffees.
Cafeteria 4.0 is a hybrid space where one can linger, consume and work, a welcoming, democratic, social environment open to all digital nomads.
