The project is about a one-family residential unit realised in 2018 and located in an expanding area of the plain near Bologna, characterised by high buildings and one-family and semi detached houses.
The house, with two floors, has got the living area open towards the outdoor garden that surrounds the whole property as far as the boarder with the countryside; the living area has been thought as a double volume open towards the sky, so that, from the sofa, you can see the shining moon.
The house, realised for a residential settlement of 4 people, has been designed to be a double function space: living and working, therefore it presents on the ground floor a day/night area to study and work and a playroom on the first floor, which is ideal for those who work from home and for who needs a place where children can play and have fun.
The structure of the building has been created with vertical and horizontal wooden panels with X-LAM technology, the 18 cm coat insulation is realised with high density mineral fibre panels, wooden and aluminium frames with triple glass and performance of thermal insulation in line with the parameters of the passive house. Designed as a unique monochromatic volume, from it we have obtained some covered spaces (balconies), realised by subtraction as parts carved in the volume, creating a chromatic contrast thanks also to the grey areas and to the broken lines of the short fronts.
The building has been thought to answer to the regulatory requirements of the buildings with almost zero NZEB in class A4 energy, goal reached thanks to a correct orientation inside the area and to the use of energy produced by a photovoltaic installation of 6 Kw. The construction site last in total 8 months, of which only 5 for the realisation and the finishing of the two floors of the house.
